SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Email submissions to PoetryCorners2022@gmail.com Subject line “Last Name - Poetry Corners Submission.” February 1 - February 28 Poets are free to submit work on any subject and need not adhere to a theme. ! Each poet may submit up to three poems for consideration. Students K-12, please indicate your grade level when you submit. Please indicate if a submitted poem has been previously published. We will note publication history if your poem is jury-selected, printed and displayed. Poems must be no more than 25 lines, including title and line spaces, to fit the physical constraints of the display posters. Poets' names need not be included in the line count. Poems must be submitted via email as an attached Word or .pdf document. While Poetry Corners welcomes all types of poems, including those dealing with sophisticated or challenging subject matter, please keep in mind that selected poems will be publicly displayed and read by people of all ages. Please check your poems for accuracy. Typos and other errors may be misunderstood to be creatively intentional. Include in the body of your email: o Your name, address, and phone number o Your email address o Grade level and school if you are a student. o If you’re not a Bainbridge Island resident, please describe your connection to Bainbridge Island. ● Entry fee: Free for students, $15 for adults Checks can be sent to 4762 P.O. Box Rollingbay, WA 98061 Venmo can be sent to @Tamarah-Rockwood Poetry Corners will host a live-reading event at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art on May 6th at 5PM Where published poets will receive their one free journal and will be able to present their poem. The journal will be available for purchase at the event, and at participating bookstores. You will be sent a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your submission. ● Publication Form: In order to protect the work of the poets, and to ensure that all applicable rights revert back to the poet following publication, and at all times the poet retain the copyright to their work, please sign the publication form attached to the confirmation email and send it back either through email or by mail.
